Dann Thombs

Role(s): actor, filmer, director, costumes, pyrotechnics, special effects
Year Started: 1987
Bio: It all started with the flagship show: 'Danny on the Moon' From there it went downhill, until we bounced, and it started to get interesting. Boasting such intelligent writing for skits like: bum scum candy, super karate school, and the anti-gang helmet, all we needed was the ability to edit on the computer. Just seven short years later, that dream came true with DuctWars: The Rebellion. The true power of the computer as shown and almost made the movies worth watching. Once that was completed, a sequel was made and the effects grew as well as the movie length. Gone were the days of making a full movie in one day or two. Gone were the days of recording the scenes in the same order as they happened. Although those days will be missed, and we won't have a full 8mm tape of stuff to watch, it has yielded a greater product.

Dann does most of the editing and special effects for DCJ films. He takes care of most of the bothersome technical problems that computers bring and spends hours tweaking movie frames to get them just right. Most of the time, when a scene is done, he retains no knowledge of how it was completed. He also acts, films, directs and sometimes scripts.
